Shift from the language of limitation to the language of liberation.
From problem to possibility.
Let's walk through a door and get to know each other.
Successful businesses surface choices and learn how to manage tensions effectively. One of the ways to transform your business is to understand the necessary tensions, realize their benefits and avoid the pitfalls. Our transformative facilitation will empower you to find your balance so you can lean forward.
Organize from a hierarchy to a holocracy. Or network your team together to achieve greater results. Or find a way to leverage talent to build for the future. There is no "right" org design...finding your best option is how I can help. Don’t think of boxes…think about where your primary sources of value are.
The way we interact with our world is shaped by our life experiences, our social identity, and our culture. I invite you to explore how your perspectives create an intersection and through empathy, engage with many other unique perspectives.
I continue to try to shift my language from I can't or I should have to what can I learn or how can I be my best self today.
I recently read an article on how to become culturally competent. The author suggests that we move through a cycle (Bennett, 2004).
1) Denial
2) Defense
3) Minimization
4) Acceptance
5) Adaptation
6) Integration
Once we start recognizing the common humanity of other people outside of our inside group, we can begin the process of accepting and appreciating differences. Bennett suggests that sometimes we try to move others too quickly through the cycle and it is better to address the challenges within each before moving forward. There is a resolution that needs to be found in each of the stages before becoming culturally competent where we " one’s experience of self is expanded to include the movement in and out of different cultural worldviews.”
